The Certified Business Analysis Professional™ (CBAP®) designation was created by the International Institute of Business Analysis
(IIBA®), an independent non-profit association and the only organization that may confer the CBAP certification. The
CBAP certification status signifies professionals who are experts in their field.
IIBA established the formal recognition of business analysis professionals with the CBAP certification. IIBA is responsible for the creating and maintaining the CBAP exam and the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge® (BABOK®), the collection of knowledge within the profession that reflects the generally accepted practices and that is the basis for the CBAP certification exam. Professionals, who want to attain the CBAP certification, need to be intimately familiar with BABOK, demonstrate their expertise by itemizing their hands-on work experience and pass the IIBA CBAP exam.
